Hossein Azizi is a distinguished professor at Amol University of New Technologies, specializing in cell and molecular biology. Born in Amol, Iran in September 1979, he began his academic journey with a bachelor's degree from Tonkabon University, followed by a master’s degree in Tehran, where he also engaged in pivotal stem cell research at the Royan Research Institute. He furthered his studies with a PhD from Heidelberg University, Germany.

Abolfazl Nik-Akhtar is a Part-time Professor in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa, where he explores cellular dynamics to improve human health. His role bridges teaching and research, focusing on the biochemical processes that influence health and disease.
He began his academic career at Chamran University, studying biotechnology, before moving to Italy to join the biotech research group at Università degli Studi di Verona. During his time there, he developed a deep passion for understanding the role of PARylation in skeletal muscle during the development of cancer cachexia. This pursuit of knowledge led him to the University of Ottawa in Canada, where he joined Professor Keir Menzies' lab, further dedicating himself to his research interests.
