Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Day - A Personal Journey

Today, on September 7th, we stand together to recognize the relentless fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I want to commend all the brilliant researchers, clinicians, and investors who have poured their energy into advancing treatments and finding cures for this challenging condition. Your dedication is making a difference, and I am honored to be a part of this mission.

Exactly four years ago, I made a life-changing decision to dedicate my career to studying neuromuscular diseases, particularly Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As I was writing on my blog and teaching both in person and through online posts, I knew this field was where my heart belonged. This passion led me to pursue a master's degree in biochemistry to better equip myself for this cause.

Today, as a biochemistry graduate, I am full of ambition to continue this journey towards a PhD and deepen my research into neuromuscular diseases. One of my proudest achievements has been designing a website to break down complex scientific articles on Duchenne into easily understandable language for families, in both English and Farsi. I firmly believe that providing access to information is a key step in empowering families and patients.

Above all, I want to give **hope** to Duchenne patients and their families. Science is advancing every day, and new treatments are on the horizon. The lives of children with Duchenne matter, and I want them to know that **we are all with them**. Together, we can build a brighter future.
